SYRACUSE, NY (607NewsNow) – Authorities in Syracuse are looking for a suspect in an animal cruelty case.

On October 21, someone allegedly stabbed a dog at a residence in the 500 block of East Willow Street.

According to Syracuse Police, the pup, whose name is Chance, is receiving intensive care from Humane CNY, and the Cuse Pit Crew is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

HumaneCNY says Chance had a successful surgery but lost a lot of blood from the stab wound in his neck. He sustained heart damage and trauma to his body from the blood loss and will require another blood transfusion tonight. Donations can be made here.

Anyone who knows who hurt Chance or may have relevant information is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department Animal Cruelty Division at (315) 442-5336.
