Union Springs man sentenced in child sex abuse case

AUBURN, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man is headed to state prison.

According to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, Craig Gilmore, of Union Springs, was sentenced to 18 years behind bars on August 14 for first-degree felony course of sexual conduct against a child.

In a previous guilty plea, the 63-year-old admitted to committing sexual acts between the Spring of 2023 and August 2024 with a victim who was less than 11 years old. Gilmore was arrested in August 2025.

Gilmore will also reportedly be subject to 20 years of post-release supervision and will be required to register as a sex offender.
